This seminar invites students to explore thegrowing research field of deep learning and itsever-increasing presence in research andpractice. The course will provide anaccessible and understandable introduction tothe fundamentals of deep learning, providingthe students with the tools to critically engagewith the field.​

An emphasis is placed on rigorous research,creative problem framing and sound scientificmethodology. The goal is not just to learnabout AI tools, but to understand how theywork and how they can properly be applied toexisting problems. Students will be split intoteams, develop a research-based concept foraddressing an existing issue in the AEC fieldand test it out prototypically. ​

Prior knowledge to programing is notexpected but will be of advantage. The finalsubmission consist of a presentation and a10-page research paper.​
