Exhibition “UNSTRAIGHT MATTER” – June 16-17
Unstraight Matter (Queer Affects in a Vibrant World) was the topic of this year’s 4th semester BA Artistic Methods foundation course in Fine Art at the Professorship of Art in Architecture.
How does matter feel, pull, disrupt, and reorient us? Queer material intervention was at the center of the exploration: using artistic making to challenge normative orientations of bodies, objects, and spaces.
In a broader sense, queering refers to a critical and creative strategy of questioning, unsettling, and reworking dominant norms, categories, and assumptions, using disruption, reorientation, and experimentation to imagine alternative ways of organizing bodies, objects, relations, and spaces beyond what is considered normal or natural.
This large exhibition brings together nearly 50 artworks across the mediums of sculpture, video, installation and performance.
