(Studio) Bonfim is an architecture office founded in 2019 by Katharina Hohenwarter and Michael Hafner, with bases in Vienna and Porto. Their projects are characterized by a sensitive approach to material, context, and reuse. Studio Bonfim works with what is already there - remnants, traces, and spatial irregularities - and develops new spatial qualities from these conditions. Conversion, collective processes, and a strong attention to atmosphere and detail are central to their design approach.
Alongside their practice, Katharina Hohenwarter and Michael Hafner are engaged in research and teaching at Graz University of Technology, as well as in the architectural research collectiv Diskursiv.

(Studio) Bonfim ist ein 2019 von Katharina Hohenwarter und Michael Hafner gegründetes Architekturbüro mit Standorten in Wien und Porto. Die Projekte zeichnen sich durch einen sensiblen Umgang mit Material, Kontext und Wiederverwendung aus. Studio Bonfim arbeitet mit Vorgefundenem, mit Resten, Spuren und räumlichen Unregelmäßigkeiten und entwickelt daraus neue räumliche Qualitäten. Umbau, kollektive Prozesse und ein Auge für Atmosphäre und Detail sind zentrale Entwurfsinhalte.
Parallel zur Praxis sind Katharina Hohenwarter und Michael Hafner in Forschung und Lehre an der TU Graz, sowie im Grazer Kollektiv Diskursiv tätig.
