Final Review of the Bachelor project BA3 - Munich Athletic Club at the Professorship of Architecture and Construction.
About the project:
The Munich Athletic Club (MAC), which provides space for sports and social activities, will be developed in the centre of Munich. Situated near several institutes of the LMU, the new Munich Athletic Club (MAC) is a multifunctional building to host different sports activities and beyond offering spaces for gathering, discussions, learning and social interaction, open to students regardless of their social background. After an initial research and concept phase, the semester will be organized in two main parts: Structure and climate, and Inhabiting Space. Going iteratively from the inside out, the semester will reverse the typical / linear process of designing buildings as objects, giving preference to the spatial and the organizational, all the while integrating new demands into a coherent whole.
The project is developed in collaboration with the Chair of Building Technology and Climate Responsive Design under Prof. Thomas Auer, as well as the Professorship of Structural Design under Prof. Dr. Pierluigi D’Acunto.
