Green Typologies – Green Architectures

 

Green architecture is not a recent invention of the last 20 or 30 years. Concepts and techniques have existed for a long time; some have fallen into obscurity but can be of great use to us again today. These include, for example, the eco-pioneers of the 1980s and 1990s, as well as architectural botanical techniques from past centuries. Using texts and project examples, we will develop a fundamental understanding of these green architectures during the seminar.

The seminar “Green Typologies: Green Architectures” is divided into two parts: an intensive literature review and comprehensive analysis of existing concepts and projects in green architecture, followed by an exploration of their respective qualities and potential for the future. In the second part, the findings will be graphically processed and communicated using various tools, media and formats. This will take place through several feedback loops, designed to result in a continuous improvement in understanding and clarity. The seminar tasks will be carried out in groups of two; the plan is to hold the introductory session and the presentations as face-to-face events, with supervision taking place digitally.
