As part of the Department of Architecture at the Technical University of Munich the chair of building technologies offers a Mentoring Masters as part of a consecutive Master’s courses. A Mentoring Masters offers students to study with selected mentors with individually tailored curricula according to respective focal points.
The focus of this Mentoring Master is to train students to become leading creatives and innovators in the field of building technologies and climate responsive design. We provide an interdisciplinary, theoretical, and practical understanding of designing and planning in a sustainable matter, exploring themes such as weather predictive controlling, outdoor and indoor thermal wellbeing, construction and material practices, energy suply networks, HVAC systems and much more. Overall, the Mentoring program focuses on learning the physical and technological fundamentals as well as computational methods to connect different disciplines towards a holistic approach to climateresponsive design in architecture.
Applications
Applications to the Mentoring program are possible in the first and second semester of the Master’s degree. Interested students should submit a short letter of motivation via e-mail to sebastian.koth(at)tum.de in the winter semester by the end of November and in the summer semester by the end of May.
