Integrated design studio – urban design and landscape architecture
Project Landscape Architecture 3 - City
Module AR71148, 9 Credits

The conversion and development of existing quarters and neighbourhoods is the central topic of the interdisciplinary design studio, bringing together students of both architecture and landscape architecture. The project site is located in the northwest of Munich, in the district of Moosach. Over several decades the area of 40 hectares has developed into an extensive living environment with neighbourhoods and residential areas along the Dachauer Straße. Already home for many inhabitants, the area offers further potential for densification and qualification of private and public open spaces.
How to give new impulses to the place enabling transformation and growth whilst considering existing structures (context matters!)? Which answers can be given as to the question of liveable, climate-friendly and urban living and working environments?
