Some Hotels Offer a View. Ours Offers a Feeling.

For this year's IPD Summer Exhibition, we are opening the doors to the Emotion Hotel – a hotel unlike any other. Every room is designed for a different emotion and offers a distinct atmosphere and emotional experience. Check in, receive your room key, and enter one of our emotion capsules, developed as part of this semester's design studio. Together, the rooms form an immersive hotel that explores how space, light, materials, sound, furniture, and narrative can shape the way we feel.

Alongside the hotel, the exhibition presents a collection of lamps and side tables developed in our Foundations of Integrated Product Design course in collaboration with the TUM MakerSpace. From initial sketches and research to full-scale prototypes, the projects explore the entire product design process through a series of functional home accessories.

Visitors can also explore Futures of Travel through a collection of speculative video messages imagining possible worlds in years and decades to come. Developed during our interdisciplinary project week, the films combine design futuring, storytelling, AI-supported visualization, and filmmaking to provoke discussion about how we might move, travel, and experience mobility in the future.

Together, the three projects showcase different perspectives on Integrated Product Design—from immersive spatial experiences and tangible products to speculative future scenarios. We look forward to welcoming you to this year's IPD Summer Exhibition.
