Micro-Experience Bingo

Designing for Noticing Rather Than Measuring
Micro-Experience Bingo is a playful, paper-based artifact for noticing subtle moments of lived experience. It invites people to mark sensory, social, affective, disruptive, or reflective micro-moments as they occur, without requiring sensors, apps, or fixed sampling intervals.
The project asks a simple question:
What if experience in HCI were approached through noticing rather than measurement?
Micro-Experience Bingo supports participants in becoming aware of fleeting moments that are often difficult to capture through conventional methods, such as bodily tension, hesitation, resonance, distraction, inspiration, or shifts in attention.
Rather than treating experience as something to be fully measured, the Bingo sheet acts as a lightweight prompt for attention, reflection, and conversation.
How to Use It
- Print the Bingo sheet.
- Carry it with you during a workshop, conference, design session, or field study.
- Mark prompts when they resonate with something you notice.
- Add short notes if useful, such as where, when, or why the moment occurred.
- Use the completed sheet as a starting point for reflection, discussion, or design ideation.
There is no need to complete a row or “win” the game. The unevenness of what gets marked, and what remains blank, is part of what makes the tool interesting.
