Foil Cutter
The foil cutter is for digital "cut-outs". By making cut-outs the contourdes of vector graphics will be cutted into e.g. a labeling foil without damaging the carrier paper. Depending on the settings it can be also cutted through. The foil cutter is therefore a suitable tool for the creation of logos and lettering.
The foil cutter in the DDL is a SUMMA S160 T-Series.
The cutting width of the foil cutter is 1580 mm.
The foilcutter is suitable for processing foils (rolls) and paper (rolls).
Material width: 170 mm - 1680 mm
Material thickness: up to 0,25 mm
For the foil cutter .ai-file with surfaces is required.

The foil cutter is being operated only by DDL staff (rp@ai.ar.tum.de). Hence, you always need an appointment for Foil Cutter projects. You have to make an appointment at least a week before your planned processing date.
For making an appointment you need:
- File for joint review with a DDL-Staff
- Informations about the project: Material and amount Client
- Details: student number, name and address

The processing is being executed at the client's risk!
We do not replace damaged material, even if the damage can be attributed to the operator's fault!
There is no guarantee for a fulfillment of the task on time (machine damage, illness, etc.)! An alternative date can be arranged in consideration with the Foil Cutter schedule.
