Objectives
After the course, students will be able to
• describe key current trends in urban development from a social, ecological and economic perspective on diverse spatial scales,
• explain and apply important (human geographic) models of spatial structure and development,
• explain the system of spatial planning in Germany as well as current goals and principles of spatial planning,
• use references to spatially oriented strategies for design and planning practice as methods and tools in design and make professionally argued recommendations for urban development, and
• refer to examples of current methods in research on urban development.
