Description
The question of how the Real Estate sector can implement sustainability requirements as a result of increasing political regulation at property level is both highly topical and complex. This involves ecological, social, economic and, not least, entrepreneurial aspects. At the same time, work on Real Estate issues involves many different players. During the project week, we bring together the various stakeholders from planning and development in order to honestly discuss the topic.
Stadtwerke München is involved in the development of new sustainable properties and neighbourhoods on its own land. They provide the students with a case study from their portfolio, which they use to develop scenarios for a new neighbourhood in thematic group work. Expert input and the expertise of the owner (SWM-Stadtwerke München) provide important impetus for working on the case study.
The project week begins with an on-site visit. At the end of the week, the results are presented to SWM employees. Afterwards, the results will be published in an online brochure.

Prerequisites
Studierende der TUM mit Interesse an gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhängen, technologischen und gesellschaftlichen Trends sowie Interesse an interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit und ganzheitlicher Perspektiven auf die Entwicklung von Städten und Räumen.
Teaching and learning methods
Das Projekt läuft im Rahmen einer „Projektwoche“ an fünf aufeinanderfolgenden Tagen als Blockveranstaltung. Vorgesehen ist eine durchgängige Nutzung eines Studioraumes des Department of Architecture. Nach einer Einführung und methodischen Inputs erarbeiten die Studierendengruppen eigenständig mithilfe der vorgebenden Methodik an ihren Projekten. Die Dozierenden sind vor Ort, stehen für Rückfragen zur Verfügung und geben situativ Hinweise und Anregungen im Rahmen von Arbeitstischgesprächen. Interims-Pitches oder Präsentationen schließen den Tag ab und dienen zum Austausch erlangter Kenntnisse.
Examination
Die Studierenden arbeiten in wechselnden Gruppen innerhalb eines Workshop. Es erfolgen regelmäßige Gespräche zum Arbeitsstand sowie kurze Zwischenpräsentationen die von den Dozierenden als mündliche Präsentationen bewertet werden.
