This time we built a nubian vault, made out of bricks and mortar, in 5 days time.

Originally from the ancient civilization of Nubia, that was based in today’s southern Egypt and northern Sudan, this technique requires no support or formwork during construction.

Students practiced with bricks, to acquire directly the construction techniques and verify the behavior of the material.

Learning took place through building together, learning how to use materials finding ways of turning basic construction materials, into high quality building elements.

This spread of knowledge is our principal aim!
