Final review of the Master Project Water Ever - Turkana at the Chair of Architectural Design and Participation.
About the project:
In this site-specific edition of our Water Ever Studio, the students of both bachelor and master are designing their interventions around Lake Turkana in Kenya. Building up on three semesters of design focused on global water issues we are now turning our attention to this remote site of northern Kenya. Despite its proximity to water, the region suffers from severe shortages, seasonal flooding and limited access to clean water. These extremes demand innovative, collaborative solutions at various scales, from the landscape to the architectural and elemental. By combining scientific knowledge with local engagement, our aim is to develop strategies that are both resilient and site-specific, responding to environmental volatility and community needs. Our approach emphasizes contextual sensitivity, conceptual thinking and participatory design.
