MONTAGSREIHE: Löser Lott

Vortrag |

Invitation to the lecture by Löser Lott Architekten.

Katharina Löser and Johannes Lott founded their joint office Löser Lott Architekten in Berlin in 2011. Since 2020, they have also been teaching building theory and design with a focus on residential construction at the Technical University in Dresden. Their work sees itself as a search for future living scenarios against the backdrop of an inspiring lack of clarity. In their lecture, they negotiate different aspects of both imagination and reality, with housing reflecting almost all (socially) relevant processes of the present that influence everyday rituals and have an impact on spatial structures. (Residential) architecture can be understood as a built form of behaviour, reflecting the cultural and social characteristics of a society in the form of values, lifestyles, opportunities and desires. These are characterised by constant change and are initially in temporal contradiction to the lifespan of built architecture.using various built projects and conceived designs, they illustrate their search for the performative potential of space and the fruitful exchange of research-based design in interaction with their own building practice.

MONTAGSREIHE is a series of lectures at the Department of Architecture. Thematically, it is mostly focused on young offices that can give an insight into the beginnings of their practice in addition to their work. The series is intended as an enriching contribution to the Munich architectural discourse between architects, students and architecture enthusiasts.
