Brief description: The study deals with three thematic areas of the Metropolitan Region of Northern Switzerland. (1) Analysis: What is the initial situation in the Metropolitan Region of Northern Switzerland as a result of functional and institutional interdependencies? What criteria underpin the existence of a Metropolitan Region of Northern Switzerland? (2) Objective: What are the possibilities in terms of thematic orientation, institutional design and spatial delimitation of an MR Northern Switzerland?
