Meltem Çavdar, research associate at the Professorship of Recent Building Heritage Conservation, has received a dissertation completion grant from the "Ulrike Wulf-Rheidt Stiftungsfonds der Gesellschaft der Freunde des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts - Theodor Wiegand Gesellschaft".

The foundation supports young researchers in the field of building archeology. Funding is provided for the completion of projects whose empirical core has been developed using the methods of building archaeology (building survey, detailed building investigation). In principle, the object of study can include buildings of all epochs and geographical contexts.

Meltem Çavdar is a specialist in building archaeology, holding degrees from Istanbul Technical University and Regensburg University of Applied Sciences. Her dissertation project is titled Formwork construction in the middle of the 20th century and its impact on concrete surface quality
