Final review of the Master Project Tabletopia at the Chair of Integrated Product Design.
About the project:
This project reimagines the role of tables beyond their conventional function, transforming them into bold, artistic, and experimental artifacts that inspire new ways of thinking, interacting, and collaborating. Students will design and prototype tables that integrate unexpected elements to explore their impact on creativity, problem-solving, and group dynamics through hands-on experimentation and behavioral research. While, moving beyond traditional workspace design, this project takes a playful yet research-driven approach, examining how interactive, sensory-rich table designs influence creative performance and team communication. The project will culminate in an immersive exhibition, allowing visitors to experience and engage with the table prototypes firsthand. Additionally, students will run a small pilot study to test whether their table designs successfully fulfill a previously defined research question, gathering real-world insights into how their designs impact human behaviour.
