Research questions in timber construction (3 ECTS)

Based on research and analysis of selected best-practice projects, the elective course DENSITIM aims to develop new densification strategies for existing residential buildings from the 1950s to the 1970s by examining different housing and usage typologies and construction systems. The focus is on flexible and sufficient forms of housing with flexible, adaptable floor plans - despite systemic and standardized framework conditions.

In the form of a short design, a scalable spatial system is to be developed that enters a dialogue with the existing qualities and dependencies of the existing structure.
