Pavillon Landesgartenschau 2025

Block seminar and workshop MA - Sonderthemen des Holzbaus I, Wintersemester 2023-24

The Landesgartenschau is an exhibition on horticulture held in several German and Austrian federal states. Among other things, they are intended to serve as an instrument for establishing green concepts in urban spaces and thus to have a lasting influence on urban development. The location for this exhibition changes annually, but the essential thing is that lasting things are created: new parks, bathing lakes, renaturalised rivers and riverbanks, networked landscapes, children's playgrounds, leisure facilities, cycle paths, new transport links, bridges and footpaths, retreats for flora and fauna and much more.
The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry in Bavaria is looking for an exhibition concept for its pavilion as part of the State Garden Show 2025. The predominant use of native wood is a special component of the design.

The pavilion is to be set up and dismantled several times, so quick and uncomplicated assembly/disassembly and compact storage are advantageous. It should therefore be examined to what extent modular construction methods meet these requirements, as annually changing exhibition concepts also benefit from changeable room modules.

The project will be worked on in mixed German-Argentinean groups of two in order to promote active exchange between the architecture faculties. Active participation and continuous presence at the workshop during the processing time and for the final presentation is expected.
