PUTTI 2.0
Project MA - Architecture and Timber Construction
Winter term 25/26 (15 ECTS)
In 2003, the WOGE Nordstadt eG housing cooperative acquired several plots of land on Puttenser Felde, a street in the Nordstadt district of Hanover. This was preceded by the joint development of a model for repair and partial modernisation through the user association and current tenants ‘Putti nonstop e.V.’
House numbers 3 and 4 still form a gap between buildings, which exemplifies the potential of small-scale urban redensification to create urgently needed living space. The aim is to create high-quality, subsidisable living space that is socially inclusive on a small footprint. The planned timber construction must meet high standards of dismantlability and resource efficiency. The construction method should also enable future residents to be actively involved in the construction process – as a social resource for strengthening neighbourhoods, participation and local identity.
The interdisciplinary design project takes place in groups of two.
