Design Expedition 2: DaMitt Symposium

DaMitt Symposium
3 ECTS | Seminar for Master Students
At the Chair of Integrated Product Design (IPD) at TUM, the DaMitt Study investigates how different spatial setups influence group decision-making, communication, and group dynamics. Using an interactive table as its main tool, the project contributes to ongoing research on human-centered design, collaborative environments, and interactive technologies.
In this Design Expedition seminar, students will collaboratively design and curate the concluding symposium of the study. The course focuses on scenography, exhibition, and event design as integrative practices that combine spatial design, visual communication, and interactive experience. Participants will develop the conceptual framework, visual identity, program, and scenographic interventions for the one-day symposium, including invitations, graphic materials, and overall event structure. They will also curate the symposium’s spatial experience - defining the setting, atmosphere, and the way the interactive table is presented and enhanced. The course provides hands-on experience in organizing academic events, with a focus on crafting spatial and visual narratives that engage both expert and public audiences.
