Interested in digital design and fabrication?
You enjoy experimenting with new technologies, materials, and processes, and want to contribute your own ideas? Then you’ve come to the right place. At our professorship, you have the opportunity to complete a Master’s thesis in the area of digital design and fabrication in architecture and construction.
Requirements, registration and procedure
- Prerequisite: Successful participation in one Project MA Digital Fabrication or one seminar Robotic Fabrication in Architecture or Computational Design and Fabrication at the professorship.
- Preparation and registration: Completion of the 3 ECTS compulsory module Methodical Development of Research Questions in the semester before the thesis. The course requires the completion of an exposé, which forms the basis of the written thesis and is mandatory for thesis registration.
- Supervision: Regular supervision by a research assistant and scheduled discussion meetings with the professor.
- Submission: Written thesis, final presentation and project-related experimental prototypes.
How to apply?
Email Lidia Atanasova with a short abstract (≈ one A4 page) outlining your intended thesis topic. You may choose either:
- A topic based on the ongoing research projects at the professorship,
- Your own topic related to digital design and fabrication methods in construction, or
- A topic from the Master’s Thesis Topics listed on the side.
