Historic Supporting Structures of the Pre-Industrial Age

Methods and techniques for the engineering examination and evaluation of historical building structures are explained using examples. Recording procedures, methods for the evaluation and testing of old building structures made of masonry, wood, iron and reinforced concrete are dealt with. Special consideration is given to non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures. The technical principles of the respective methods are presented as well as the possible applications in practice.
