Christiane Richter M.Sc.

In October 2013, Christiane Richter completed her bachelor's degree in civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) with a bachelor's thesis on the comparative analysis of under-tensioned arched structures using the example of atrium roofs.  From October 2013 to October 2016, she completed the binational double degree programme in Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC) near Paris. She wrote her master's thesis on tree supports and their application for pedestrian bridges as part of an internship at the engineering firm schlaich bergermann und partner in Stuttgart. During her studies, Christiane worked as a tutor at the Chair of Construction Mechanics and the Chair of Computation in Engineering and also worked as a student trainee in structural design at Mayr | Ludescher | Partner.

After completing her studies, she began her professional career as a project engineer in structural design for buildings at Bollinger + Grohmann in Munich. During this time, she worked on projects in various service phases (preliminary design to execution), conducted internal training courses on parametric modelling in Rhino/Grasshopper and supervised the student workshop "Fabrication intelligent" (ENSAV - Tomas Saraceno), among other things. In March 2019, she moved to the newly founded engineering office Englhardt Grad Kassner in Munich, where she took over the project management for various projects (focus on residential/office buildings) of different service phases, was responsible for 3D modelling and BIM planning (Revit) and supported geometrically complex bridge competitions.

In spring 2022, Christiane then took the opportunity to return to research and the university environment and started as a research assistant in the field of additive manufacturing with concrete at Munich University of Applied Sciences as part of the INNOBAU3D project. Remaining true to the topic of additive manufacturing, she moved to her alma mater in February 2024 to the professorship for Structural Design. Her research focuses on numerical multiscale optimisation methods for shape and topology optimisation and their application for additive manufacturing processes.
