New paradigms of urban mobility

An unfair distribution of land, scarcity of resources, and advancing climate change are some of the reasons for the necessary change in mobility in cities and metropolitan regions. At the same time, there is a high potential for improving the quality of life and strengthening mental and physical health. The research projects and courses focus on the investigation of current hurdles and design opportunities concerning urban space, access, and change in urban mobility cultures. Designs focus on active forms of mobility - walking and cycling - as well as strengthening public mobility services and are further developed and tested in interdisciplinary real laboratories. Thus, transformative research and methods of change gain outstanding importance.
