Ayesha Müller-Wolfertshofer completed a Bachelor's degree in Architecture at India's Vidyavardhan's IDEA (Institute of Design, Environment, and Architecture) from 2010 to 2015. She then went on to study at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, obtaining a Master’s degree in Architecture, specialising in Urban Design, from 2015 to 2017. During and after her studies, she gained professional experience working in various architecture and urban planning offices. She has been registered as an architect with the Bavarian Chamber of Architects since June 2020. From January 2020 to January 2024, she conducted doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Benedikt Boucsein, focusing on the redevelopment of informal settlements in Mumbai. Her doctoral studies were funded by a scholarship from the Hanns Seidel Foundation from October 2020 to September 2024, and she completed her doctorate with a "magna cum laude". From October 2024 to September 2025, she worked as a research associate on the Family, Living in Community and Neighborhood (FaGeNa) research project at the Chair of Urban Design. Since January 2026, she is a Laura Bassi Fellow to complete the doctorate and develop her own independent research project on Transit-Oriented Development (TOD).
