Schwarzplan Grün - Open Space Figure Ground Plan

The urban open space planning system is working so far with abstract plans and functional maps. An appropriate media to the urban ground figure plan is still lacking. The debate on urban landscape architecture must be limited to isolated objects and individual spaces. Required is a map series that captures the structural qualities of everyday public spaces on district and city level as well as in suburban areas. Compared with the figure-ground patterns in urban design, which reflects the relationship between objecttexture to space-texture, forms in a GROUND FIGURE PLAN GREEN show also an object texture, but above all a network-texture of open space. From these textures recurring or striking relations can be extracted and described as basic types. These types each represent a connected open space - city quality.
