Cyborg Freising

reflecting on the presentations of the 16. Weihenstephaner Forum

Increased use of modern technology in landscape architecture is intended to combat the negative consequences of climate change. But where is this development leading? How far can the technological optimisation of nature go? What opportunities and risks do the cyborg landscapes of the future unfold? These questions will be discussed at the 16th Weihenstephaner Forum which takes place on the 20th October 2023 in Schafhof, Freising. Reflecting on these questions, students are asked to follow the presentations at the symposium and express their thoughts through vision-collage for the future of Freising and a short text. The three best works will be published in the upcoming Nodium and five works will be given a special "surprise" prize.

Here is what you have to deliver in order to take part:

  • One A3 landscape page: create one vision for the future of Freising inspired by one WeiFo presentation and choose a quote from the symposium that describes it.
  • One A4 portrait page: write a text of maximum 3,000 characters incl. spaces where you will reflect on the aforementioned questions. Base your thoughts and argumentation on at least two presentations from the symposium.
